(Indianapolis, IN) – Four southeast Indiana companies have received the Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards.

Governor Eric Holcomb and Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Rosenberger presented the awards to 48 companies across the state Thursday at the Indiana State Fair, recognizing each company’s longevity and impact on Indiana’s economy, communities and people.

Local award winners are:

Century Award

  • Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home, 174 years old, Dearborn County
  • Lischkge Motors, Inc., 100 years, Dearborn County
  • Bath State Bank, 100 years, Franklin County

Half-Century Award

  • Southeast Indiana Regional Planning Commission, 50 years, Ripley County

“Indiana continues to prove why we have one of the best economic climates for entrepreneurship and starting small businesses,” said Governor Holcomb. “This strong economic foundation was laid by the companies that have chosen the state of Indiana over the last 50 to 100 years. The lifeblood of our growing economy is our Indiana entrepreneurs and business owners who have had the courage to turn a vision into reality, and I am honored to recognize each of these leaders today for their exemplary commitment to our state and their communities.”

The Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards honor Indiana companies that have been in business and committed to the community for at least 100 and 50 consecutive years, respectively. Over the awards’ 33-year history, more than 1,250 Indiana companies have been recognized.
