Team news Liverpool vs. Brentford

Liverpool can go into their second game of the season with a clear conscience, but that does not mean that Arne Slot will not make any changes.

Young defender Jarell Quansah was substituted at half-time of the win against Ipswich and the manager confirmed after the game that the decision was tactical as Ibrahima Konate came on and impressed as the Reds won the game. It remains to be seen whether Quansah will retain his starting place.

For Brentford, Ivan Toney is again unlikely to play as his future remains uncertain. Otherwise, it is business as usual, with Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry not returning until next month and Joshua Dasilva and Igor Thiago out for the longer term.

Liverpool vs Brentford prediction

Liverpool were slow to get going against Ipswich but were out of sight. Brentford were also slow to get going against Crystal Palace and had more trouble getting into the swing of things.

The Reds should survive their first home game of the season quite easily.

Liverpool wins 2-0.
