Liverpool 4:1 Sevilla: Fans’ comments

We asked you for your opinion on the pre-season match between Liverpool and Sevilla on Sunday.

Here are some of your comments:

Carl: A very competent first half where everyone looked hungry and seemed to know each other. Jota is great – please wrap him in bubble wrap all season. He faded in the heat but the changes didn’t make a huge negative difference, which they can. Say what you want about the opposition but I can’t wait to get back to Anfield.

Charlie: A top performance and hopefully a sign of things to come. Our three forwards were electric and hopefully this is the season that Diaz scores 20+ goals and cements his place among the best wingers in the world. The young players looked good and I’m so happy for Trey Nyoni. Even if he goes on loan, we know we have a top talent now and in the future.

Victoria: It’s fantastic to see the boys at their best. I was nervous about how they would perform under the new manager but the new leadership has done them good (no offense to Klopp, you were great and we still love you!). Diaz is at his best and it’s incredible to see Jota score a rocket goal! On to the new season!

Peter: I know you should never read too much into preseason, but four wins from four games gives me some reassurance ahead of a difficult transition period. The real test is yet to come, but it’s looking pretty good, isn’t it?

Richard: So far the squad is going well but we have some shortcomings in some positions. If we don’t invest in players we will only finish fourth or fifth in the league this season. A good result and Jota scored a fantastic goal. Let’s see what happens next Saturday against Ipswich, another away game at the start of the season against a newly promoted team.

Harry: Very impressive preseason, the whole team seems to be enjoying the tactical changes made by the new coach. The high pressure is back, still very patient at the back but more movement from midfield, allowing a quick jump from defence to midfield and on to attack. Surely we will be surprised by the pressure from the opponent, but we have Alisson.
