NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Helene is now a tropical storm after hitting Florida as a Category 4 hurricane Thursday evening. Rainfall has been heavy and persistent across most of Middle Tennessee throughout the night and is expected to continue through the weekend.

8:26 am – Single Vehicle Accident – I-40 Eastbound at MILE MARKER 216 – Eastbound 3 left lanes (out of 5 lanes) blocked, left shoulder blocked.

8:05 am – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office reports that Arno Allisona Road near Stargazer Road will be closed for the next hour as officers investigate an accident.

7:55 am – TDOT confirms flooding on I-24 eastbound at Exit 50a just after 4 a.m. blocked the left shoulder and left lane. Contract workers helped control traffic in the area.

7:27 am – WeGo reported its train, the WeGo Star crashed into a tree around 7 a.m. just before the Hermitage station on the way to Nashville. Passengers will be picked up by bus and transported to their respective destinations. ALL WEGO STAR SERVICES FOR THE MORNING HAVE BEEN CANCELED. Service is expected to resume in the afternoon.
