Lillias White returns to Hadestown as Hermes, replacing Stephanie Mills | Broadway Buzz

After just a few months away, Tony Award winner Lillias White will reprise her role as Hermes in Broadway Hadestown. White returns to the show starting October 22nd. Stephanie Mills will make her final appearance in the role on October 20th.

“I am delighted and thrilled to be rejoining this illustrious cast and crew… and what a band! I look forward to seeing all returning visitors to the Walter Kerr Theater,” White said in a statement.

White joined the show on September 13, 2022 and left the show on March 17 of this year.

Hadestown Currently starring Jordan Fisher as Orpheus, Maia Reficco as Eurydice and Phillip Boykin as Hades, as well as Yola as Persephone. Belen Moyano, Jessie Shelton and Brit West are the Fates, while the Workers chorus is performed by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Timothy H. Lee, Eddie Noel Rodriguez and Grace Yoo. As previously reported, Allison Russell will take on the role of Perseophone on November 12th.

Now in its fifth year on Broadway and is currently playing its long-awaited West End premiere. Hadestown combines modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to tell the intertwining love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone. Directed by Rachel Chavkin, book and score by Anaïs Mitchell.
