Lilbits: Witcher 3 on RISC-V, Windows Terminal and HMD’s Barbie Phone

The developers of the Box86 and Box64 emulators have managed to get The Witcher running on a computer with a RISC-V processor. Of course, it doesn’t run Soeven on a Milk-V Pioneer with a 64-core processor and AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics, but it’s still pretty impressive that it even runs on this relatively new architecture.

In other breaking tech news from around the web, Microsoft has released a preview of a major update to the Windows Terminal app, the AYANEO Pocket S portable Android gaming console is now available outside of Indiegogo, and HMD’s Barbie Phone is almost here… more than a year after the movie hit theaters.

The $129 HMD Barbie Phone is a retro-style clamshell phone with a 2.8-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, and number pad. It will be released in October and is all pink (including battery, extra back covers, lanyard, charger, and stickers).

The AYANEO Pocket S handheld gaming PC, featuring a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor, 6-inch display, and up to 16GB of RAM, is now available on the AYANEO website for $479+, or you can still grab one on Indiegogo InDemand for $399+.

Windows Terminal Preview 1.22 Release (Windows Command Line Blog)

Windows Terminal Preview 1.22 includes support for sixel images, grapheme cluster support (for improved emoji behavior), a Snippets pane for viewing saved commands, a Quick Fix feature that suggests apps when you type unknown commands, and more.

Box64’s x86_64 emulator is now capable of running AAA games like Witcher 3 on devices with a RISC-V processor and AMD graphics. SoThe maximum frame rate is about 15 fps.
