Lifestyle Lookout: NWW Fair, Food Truck Fridays and Art Gecko

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden is in full swing and this weekend is packed with fun activities for everyone. Once you purchase your ticket, you can check out many free events including the Northwest Washington Car Show, The Ninja Experience, Cirque Cyber, the Grandstand Horse Show, Barnyard Racers and/or just walk around and check out all the farm animals.

If you want to spend a little more money, you can also buy a ticket for one of the big grandstand shows. On Saturday, August 10, Walker Hayes will bring his brand of pop country to the stage. Tickets are still available for this show. Then on Sunday, Banda Los Recoditos will play regional Mexican music. The Ludacris show next Saturday is sold out, but tickets are still available for Leeland and Chris Jansen.

There’s also a fair, agricultural shows, an antique tractor show, a beer garden and plenty of fairground food, and a rodeo. What more can we say? It’s the Northwest Washington Fair. It’s fun. You should go.

Tickets for the fair and entertainment are available on the Northwest Washington Fair website.

If you’re looking for something else to enjoy in a way that’s close to what you’d expect at the fair, check out Food Truck Fridays at Pioneer Park in Ferndale. Several food trucks will be set up and Jim Buk Tu will grace the Pioneer Village Stage on Friday, August 9th, starting at 6 p.m. Jim Buk Tu is a cover band that specializes in classic alternative rock.

Food Truck Fridays is part of the City of Ferndale’s Summer of Fun, which also includes Music in the Park and Flicks in the Park. Next on the music side, Lemon Creek celebrates women in rock and pop on August 17th. The last film they’re showing this summer is Migration, on August 23rd at 6pm.
