Latest information on Grayson McCall’s injury: NC State quarterback out against Louisiana Tech

RALEIGH — NC State quarterback Grayson McCall was injured in the first half and will miss the remainder of the Wolfpack’s game against Louisiana Tech on Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium.

McCall, a transfer from Coastal Carolina, completed 9 of 13 passes for 54 yards and ran for 22 yards on four attempts before leaving the game against the Bulldogs late in the second quarter.

With McCall out, freshman quarterback CJ Bailey will step in for the Wolfpack, who trailed 7-6 with 1:45 left in the first quarter.

McCall, a three-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year at Coastal Carolina, completed 69.9% of his passes for 10,005 yards and 88 touchdowns in five seasons with the Chanticleers. He also ran for 1,113 yards and 18 TDs.

During the 2023 season at Arkansas State, McCall was reportedly knocked unconscious and carried off the field before spending the night in the hospital. He missed the final six games of the 2023 season and was transferred.
