The City of Lakeland will host its annual Fall Flea Market on September 28, 2024, for the tenth consecutive year. After positive feedback from the community, the event will be similar to its spring counterpart, with an estimated 100 to 200 households expected to participate.

Residents who want to participate in the sale can easily register their addresses through an app that has been standard for several years. To register, simply email Wesley Wright at [email protected].

Although the weather is always unpredictable, late September usually sees more pleasant temperatures, ideal for a day of shopping outdoors. As in previous years, there is no date set for a later date. Despite rain falling twice in the past, the sale went ahead as planned, with many attendees braving the elements.

Those registered to sell items are reminded to put up their signs early and ensure they are removed by Monday. Although the official sale day is Saturday, many residents begin selling on Friday morning and continue through Saturday morning. Most participants close their sales at 2 p.m. on Saturday. To attract the maximum number of shoppers, vendors are advised to put up their signs by 7 a.m., as most shoppers typically arrive by 10 a.m.

Past participants have reported success. Some have teamed up with neighbors for joint sales and used eye-catching signs to attract more customers. The event is not only an opportunity to get rid of unwanted items, but also an opportunity to score great deals from local vendors.

Additionally, this year’s Fall Flea Market coincides with Lakeland’s Community Cleanup Day, providing residents with a perfect opportunity to sell and get rid of unwanted items in one weekend.
