Krystal Joy, Matt Doyle, Telly Leung and other stars in “My Best Friend’s Wedding”

The cast has been confirmed for the world premiere of My best friend’s wedding Musical. The new musical adaptation of Julia Roberts’ 1997 romantic comedy, directed by Kathleen Marshall and featuring songs by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, opens at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine on September 26 and runs through October 27.

My best friend’s wedding will be Krystal Joy Brown (We roll along happily) as Julianne, Tony Award winner Matt Doyle (Pursue) as Michael, Lianah Sta. Ana (Miss Saigon) as Kimmy, Morgan Bryant (Girls Club – Be careful, they bite! national tour) as Samantha, Zoe Jensen (SIX) as Amanda, Telly Leung (Aladdin) as George, Mark Lotito (Some like it hot) as Walter, Austin Phillips (parade) as Scotty and Soara-Joye Ross as Isabelle.

The cast also includes Kailey Boyle, Daniel Brackett, Runako Campbell, Deanna Cudjoe, Aaron Graham, Harris Matthew, Jessica Sheridan, Mikayla Thrasher and Craig Waletzko. Kaitie Buckert and Raphe Gilliam serve as production swings.

My best friend’s wedding Music direction is by Andrew Sotomayor, set and costume design is by Colin Richmond, lighting design is by Richard Latta, sound design is by Kevin Heard, and wig, hair and makeup design is by Roxanne De Luna.

As previously reported, the musical has a book by Ron Bass, the film’s original screenwriter, and British playwright Jonathan Harvey. The score includes Bacharach-David classics such as “I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” “Walk on By” and “What’s New Pussycat?”

When she hears he’s getting married soon, she vows to win him back for good, but with the perfect Kimmy in the way, it’s not as easy as she first thought.
