Kraken previews the possible lineup on opening night with the final preseason game against the Oilers

The Seattle Kraken will play their final preseason game against the Edmonton Oilers, with the possible opening lineup.

The Kraken made their latest major wave of cuts on Tuesday, placing six players on waivers and assigning another three to the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Players fighting for the final roster spots who survived the latest wave of cuts included Ryan Winterton, John Hayden and Cale Fleury. Due to the cap situation and the fact that the team is over the roster cap, three cuts will need to be made before they are ready to play their first game of the season.

Winterton will be in the Kraken lineup again as Tye Kartye is dealing with an injury. HC Dan Bylsma wouldn’t say what the injury was, but for now Winterton will take his place in Hayden’s place.

Josh Mahura ran alongside Fleury as an additional defender. Shane Wright has trained with Kartye and Jordan Eberle throughout training camp and will line up with Eeli Tolvanen and Oliver Bjorkstrand for the final preseason game.

The Oilers will field a lineup that looks very similar to their expected lineup on opening night.
