Curfew lifted before noon on Wednesday, September 25; student arrested




Just before noon on Wednesday, September 25, a curfew was lifted at Kentwood High School in Covington and a student was arrested for allegedly carrying a weapon on school grounds.

“There is no danger to the public or the school,” a King County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said in an email.

A call came in shortly after 10 a.m. and the curfew was lifted around 11:45 a.m., the spokesman said.

“Investigators are still on site and the investigation is ongoing,” said an email from the sheriff’s office sent shortly after 12 p.m.

No further details were released by the sheriff’s office.

Kentwood is located at 25800 164th Ave. SE in Covington and is part of the Kent School District.
