KCPD responds to murder near Central Park

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – The Kansas City Missouri Police Department is investigating a homicide west of Central High School and Central Park.

Police received a call at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday about a shooting in the area of ​​the 3300 block of E. Linwood Boulevard.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel took him to a nearby hospital, where he was officially declared dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed that there had been an altercation between people at the crime scene, which led to the victim being shot.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and combing the area for additional clues to the shooting. Investigators will continue to examine the scene to find any evidence.

Anyone with any information is asked to anonymously call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS Hotline that leads to an arrest in the case.
