Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom didn’t hold back with their declarations of love at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards as she accepted the Video Vanguard Award on Wednesday.
The “Last Friday Night” singer performed a medley of her biggest hits, including “Dark Horse” and “I Kissed a Girl,” before sliding down from a moon-like platform on stage to accept the coveted award from the hands of her fiancé, to whom she was married for five years.
Perry, 39, immediately ran over to Bloom, 47, before wrapping her arms around him and making out for a few seconds in front of the roaring crowd at the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
The pair eventually let go of each other and smiled before the Lord of the Rings star held up the golden trophy and urged fans to “give up for our latest Video Vanguard!”
Bloom had previously announced Perry’s career-spanning performances, which included “ET,” “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream” and “Firework.”
“We fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson,” he began, using her real name.
“You know her as a global superstar who brings light and love and her unique sense of humor to every song she writes and every music video she creates. I know her as a mother, a partner who brings that same love and joy to our family.”
The stars began dating in January 2016 and got engaged in February 2019. They had a daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.
Perry and Bloom’s public displays of affection came a week after she made headlines for openly sharing details about her sex life.
The former “American Idol” judge admitted on the Sept. 4 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she has oral sex with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star while he does chores around the house.
“When I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean and you’ve done everything and all the dishes and closed all the pantry doors, you better be prepared to get your cock sucked,” she said, laughing.
