    Kansas and Tennessee lead the college football uniforms of week three

    College football schedules are bringing a different kind of even heat to the table in Week 3.

    The Kansas Jayhawks will play their second home game of the season outside of Lawrence at Children’s Mercy Park, returning to alternate teams.

    The Jayhawks will break out their all-black uniforms when they play the UNLV Rebels. The uniforms feature nostalgic elements, such as a stylish circus font and the 1941 Jayhawks logo. This will be the second time Kansas has worn the apparel since it was unveiled in the 2023 season when the Jayhawks defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini 34-23.

    Here are some of the cleanest combinations for Week 3 of college football:

    Unique combinations

    UNLV hasn’t missed a beat in the uniforms they wore in two big wins to start the season. The Rebels’ biggest test yet will see them play in scarlet and gray on the road against Kansas.

    The Tennessee Volunteers have established themselves as early contenders for the national championship. During their season opener against the NC State Wolfpack, they wore their alternate jerseys in smokey gray to maintain their original look. The Volunteers will face the Kent State Golden Flashes in all orange with their “Orange Britches” uniforms.

    This weekend is prime time for the Kentucky Wildcats as they open conference play against the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Wildcats wear gray jerseys with blue trim.

    Power outages

    The TCU Horned Frogs unveiled three new uniforms over the summer, and one of them will shine this weekend against the UCF Knights. The Frogs will sport an all-black look that is slightly different from their uniforms from past seasons.

    In recent seasons, the Horned Frogs’ black jerseys have featured a necklace pattern around the collar, but the new threads are simple. The jerseys also include a “Carter Boys” patch on the back, which serves as a tribute to Amon G. Carter Stadium.

    After their loss to the Duke Blue Devils in Week 2, the Northwestern Wildcats are back with a different look. They will be wearing all black against the Eastern Illinois Panthers.

    Icy white wines

    UCF was a member of the American Athletic Conference from 2013 until joining the Big 12 prior to the 2023 season. Although they were unable to compete in their Big 12 debut against the Kansas State Wildcats last season, a new year brings new opportunities. The Knights will wear a new all-white combination in their 2024 conference opener against TCU.

    After a win over the Florida State Seminoles in Week 0, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets came back down to earth in their third game, losing 31-28 to the Syracuse Orange. In Georgia Tech’s return to Bobby Dodd Stadium, the Yellow Jackets will wear a clean, all-white outfit.
