Kangana Ranaut reveals she turned down Anant Ambani’s wedding invitation titled ‘Mai Meide Karti Hu Aisi Shadi’.
The wedding of Anant Ambani, the scion of Reliance Industries, with his fiancée Radhika Merchant was the most expensive Indian wedding of 2024. Many prominent faces from all over the world graced the event, including international celebrities, politicians, businessmen and many more. The queen Actress Kangana Ranaut was absent from the three pre-wedding events and Anant Ambani’s grand wedding.
Kangana Ranaut reveals that Anant Ambani invited her to his wedding
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Kangana Ranaut was asked about her absence from Anant Ambani’s wedding and whether she was invited. To this, the actress replied that Anant had personally invited her but she could not be there on his big day as she also has a wedding at her home. In her words:
“Mujhe Anant Ambani ka phone aaya tha and he is such a nice boy. Mujhe kehta aap meri shaadi pe jaroor aana. Maine kaha ‘Dekho mere ghar pe khud ek shaadi hai’. Wo ek auspicious date thi, to mere chhote bhai ki Shadi Thi. Lekin Khair, Vaise Bhi Mai Avoid Hi Karti Hun Aisi Filmy Shaadiyon Me Jaana. But I still wish them all the best.
Kangana Ranaut shared pictures from her cousin’s wedding in Himachal Pradesh
In July 2024, Kangana Ranaut shared pictures of herself enjoying her cousin Varun Ranaut’s wedding festivities. Kangana looked stunning in a Rani-pink traditional Himachali clothing, which she combined with a huge Maang Teeka and matching earrings. She rounded off her look with subtle makeup. Sharing the pictures, Kangana also explained the various customs of a Himachali wedding and stressed on the importance of spending time with family during the wedding festivities.
Kangana Ranaut allegedly attacked celebs who danced at Anant Ambani’s wedding
Earlier, Kangana Ranaut reportedly criticised the celebs who danced at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations. In her Instagram stories, she wrote that she would never dance at anyone’s wedding no matter how much money she was offered. She also compared herself to the late Nightingale Of Bollywood, Lata Mangeshkar, who never sang at celebrity weddings. An excerpt from her note can be read as follows:
“No matter how many temptations I had, I never danced at weddings. Many super hits were also offered to me and soon I started avoiding award ceremonies. It takes strong character and dignity to say no to fame and money. In a world of shortcuts, the young generation must understand that the only wealth one can attain is the wealth of integrity.”
The grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant got engaged in a traditional Gol Dhana Ceremony on January 19, 2023, in Mumbai. They had two grand pre-wedding soirees: one in Jamnagar in March 2024 and the other on a cruise from Italy to France in the last week of May 2024. Anant and Radhika had a week-long star-studded pre-wedding celebration in Mumbai, followed by their wedding which took place on July 12, 2024.
