About her romance with ex Ryan Seacrest

When Julianne started dating Ryan Seacrest In 2010, a new world opened up for her – a world of luxury vacations, Lakers courtside seats, and glamorous evening dates.

“The rug was pulled out from under me and I just flew,” she said in an episode of Dax ShepardPodcast by Armchair Expert. “I experienced things that I didn’t even know existed. But then I had this insecurity and thought, ‘I don’t want anyone to think I’m with them for this reason. So I started acting smaller.'”

And Julianne saw how she was changing.

“I was again overcompensating, being malleable to be exactly what someone needed me to be happy,” she added. “What I’ve realized over the years is that I don’t know if I’ve ever been truly in love with anyone, but I’ve loved the feeling of being loved. And so let me be what that needs to be so I can be loved. And because I’m so filled with someone’s love, of course I love you. I love everyone. I’ve been in love with everyone I’ve ever dated, but have I? I don’t want to overanalyze it, because every person I’ve dated has been a very good person.”

When Julianne and Ryan split in 2013, many “moms and producers from Brentwood” questioned the decision, she noted.

“They say, ‘Your life is completely mapped out,'” she says. “And I thought, ‘But I didn’t build it.’ And of course I thought, ‘I have to do this,’ in competition, like, ‘It’s not mine and I want to be proud of having done it.'”
