Judge Greg Mathis and his wife Linda Mathis must face divorce court.
According to court documents obtained by E! News and Today, the reality TV judge’s wife filed for divorce on Thursday. The couple, who live in Los Angeles and have been married for 39 years, also appeared with their family on the 2022 E! reality show “Mathis Family Matters,” which gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at Judge Mathis’ life beyond the bench.
The two married in 1985 and have four adult children: Jade, 39, and Camara, 36, Greg Jr., 35, and Amir, 34.
In 2022, Judge Mathis’ long-running show “Judge Mathis” was canceled along with other court show “The People’s Court,” hosted by Marilyn Milian.
Judge Greg Mathis begins “Next big chapter” with the new court series “Mathis Court”
The two then-syndicated Warner Bros. television shows feature Mathis and Milian in a courtroom adjudicating on disputing parties whose situations must be resolved through binding arbitration. Last year, the popular television personality was back in court.
Mathis, best known as the host of the long-running reality courtroom series “Judge Mathis,” has been selected to host the upcoming series “Mathis Court with Judge Mathis,” according to a press release from Allen Media Group.
“Judge Greg Mathis is an outstanding, charismatic and iconic television host and we are extremely confident that our eighth and newest courtroom series featuring Judge Mathis will be very successful in the years to come as he joins our outstanding roster of talent,” said Byron Allen, CEO of Allen Media Group, in a statement.
Mathis, a former district judge in Michigan, first appeared in the pilot episode in 1998, according to IMDb. Twenty years later, in 2018, the show received a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Courtroom Program.
Their reality show on E! followed the ups and downs of marriage and family as Judge Mathis and Linda Mathis navigated their large family of children and grandchildren.
