Jonathan Taylor storms through the Steelers defense for an early TD

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts made the Pittsburgh Steelers’ vaunted defense look lethal on their first drive.

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor scored a 2-yard touchdown run, capping an eight-play, 70-yard drive that gave Indianapolis a 7-0 lead over Pittsburgh and its fearsome defense.

Before Sunday, the Steelers hadn’t allowed an opening TD against the Patriots since Week 14 of last season, according to ESPN Research. But on this drive, the Colts capitalized on a huge 32-yard completion between quarterback Anthony Richardson and Michael Pittman Jr. on the first play. Taylor then contributed 29 yards on five carries.

The Steelers entered the game ranked best in the league in yards allowed per game (229) and points allowed per game (8.7).
