Jonathan’s brother, Drew Scott, predicts that the groom will “cry” during the ceremony and that he would also “cry”

Jonathan Scott predicts his upcoming wedding to Zooey Deschanel will be a tearjerker!

The Real Estate Brothers Star along with his brother Drew, both 46, shared in a recent interview with Access to Hollywood that they expect a lot of emotions when the time comes for the big ceremony.

“He’s definitely going to cry,” Drew said of his brother. “I’m definitely going to cry.” Jonathan then jokingly added, “It’s going to be chaos.”

Jonathan also shared an update on the status of wedding preparations and noted that he and the New Girl The 44-year-old actress was so busy that she “literally had no time to just stop and think.”

However, Jonathan stressed that they wanted to “keep it intimate” as weddings can be “very expensive” depending on what they include in the ceremony. Drew joked that he was “pretty sure there will be escape rooms” – referring to the activity the couple chose on their first date – “sushi, some shows, a theater.”

“We know that the most important thing for us is to be surrounded by our loved ones,” Jonathan told PEOPLE of their big day. “And we’re not planning a crazy, extravagant wedding. It’s going to be pretty intimate.”

“We’ll probably have another friends-only party here locally,” he added. The couple lives in Los Angeles and lives in their 1938 “dream house,” which they renovated together in 2022.

Jonathan and the Eleven Actress met for the first time during the filming of an episode of Carpool Karaoke with Drew and Deschanel’s sister Emily in 2019. After filming the episode, the two began dating.

After four years together, Jonathan officially proposed while the couple enjoyed a family vacation in Scotland in August 2023. Deschanel’s two children – daughter Elsie, 8, and son Charlie, 6 – also played a role in the special moment, holding up a banner that read “Zooey, will you marry me” as Jonathan got down on one knee in front of Edinburgh Castle.

Following their fairytale moment, the couple shared a joint post on Instagram with the caption, “Forever begins now.” In the photo, Deschanel and Jonathan pose beaming at the base of a stone castle while Deschanel proudly holds up her engagement ring.
