Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel are planning an “intimate” wedding.
The 46-year-old TV star and Zooey, 44, have not yet set their wedding date, but they already have a clear idea of ​​what their wedding day will look like.
Jonathan, who has been dating Zooey since 2019, told Us Weekly: “The ceremony and the pomp and circumstance, we’ll get through that, and then comes the reception. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Jonathan and Zooey were “very different people” when they were younger, but the TV star said their interests and ambitions have become more similar recently.
He said, “I mean, we’ve both been married before, but even when we were younger, you were looking for different things, and who knows what we were looking for back then?”
Zooey had previously claimed that she and her fiancé were “so well-matched.”
The brunette beauty told PEOPLE: “Our personalities fit together so well. We just come from different worlds. We call ourselves nerds, you should know that.”
Nevertheless, Zooey eventually feared that Jonathan was ignoring her.
Jonathan explained, “I think we’ve talked or texted every day, and we still do every day since we met, except for that time when I was on a packing trip in the middle of the Rocky Mountains where there was no cell reception.”
“She thought I was just going to blow her off because I didn’t respond for, what, three days or something.”
Zooey and Jonathan celebrated their first anniversary amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress took to social media in 2020 to praise the television star, describing Jonathan as the “kindest, most caring, funniest, most generous, creative, nerdiest, most handsome and all-around incredible human being.”
She said on Instagram at the time: “I am so grateful for every smile, every kiss, every hug, every snuggle, every laugh, every game of Scrabble, every escape room, every breakfast, lunch and dinner we share together.
