John Cena comments on the canceled film “Coyote vs. Acme”

WWE legend John Cena wants to believe that Warner Bros. Discovery put “Coyote vs. Acme” on hold for the “right reasons.”

Cena was part of the film, which was canceled in November, even though filming had been completed and it had been shown to some audiences. There was speculation that the film might be released, but that was not the case. Warner Bros.’ decision sparked massive criticism.

While promoting his new movie “Jackpot!” John Cena said The Wrap about the hard part of the film business. He admitted that the director and everyone involved in the film had put their heart and soul into it, but the film was never released.

“There’s a lot to it. And everyone has a different perspective. We don’t own the film. That’s the hard thing about this business. You feel like you own it because you put your heart and soul into it. And (director) Dave Green and everyone involved made a film that we thought was good.”

The popular Hollywood actor said he would have liked to give the film a chance, but he respects the “right reasons” for the film’s cancellation.

“I would have liked to see the film given a chance. But I’m only one person. And if it gets shelved, then I have to assume that it was for the right reasons and that it was a good business decision. I think I would be very regretful and ashamed if I looked back on the legacy of the film and it was shelved for other reasons.”

“So I have to believe in the process. And I love the film, I’m into it with all my heart, but it’s someone else’s project and you can do whatever you want with it, and that’s what you’ve chosen.”

John Cena returned to WWE last month at the Money In The Bank PLE, where he announced his farewell tour. Fans can also see him in Jackpot!an action comedy directed by Paul Feig that released on Prime Video on Thursday, August 15th.
