John Cena believes a WWE movie could be on the horizon

John Cena recently commented on the cinematic portrayal of the wrestling world, praising two notable films: “The Wrestler” and “The Iron Claw.”

In a conversation with Jeff Goldblum on the “Jimmy Kimmel Show,” John Cena emphasized the challenges and successes of portraying wrestling stories in film.

Over the years, numerous wrestling films have been made, some making fun of the sport, others taking a more serious tone.

Cena noted that both “The Wrestler,” a fictional account of a wrestler’s struggles, and “The Iron Claw,” a chronicle of the Von Erich family legacy, have resonated with audiences.

Wrestling movies are a difficult subject. Movies like The Wrestler and The Iron Claw have told the stories of the individuals really well. It’s such a larger than life thing and there are so many memorable names.

Cena went into more detail about the plot of both films.

Iron Claw is about four star gamblers in Texas. The Wrestler is the story of a star gambler past his prime and how he tries to get his life back on track. It’s the story of a rock star who can’t get off the stage.

He concluded with a hopeful vision for the future of wrestling cinema:

Wrestling, sports entertainment, WWE is like a treasure trove of stories. When I see a well-made movie like Iron Claw or The Wrestler, it gives me hope that there are more stories to be told because there are so many stories in our library.
