To the surprise of many, Jill Duggar appears to have been excluded from Jana Duggar’s wedding reception.
And now some fans believe there are signs of animosity between the once close sisters.
As we already reported, Jana married Stephen Wissmann on August 15th.
Jill Duggar adds to Jana Duggar’s wedding controversy
At first, Jill seemed excited about this milestone in her sister’s life, even though she was not a bridesmaid.
“My sister is married!!,” Jill wrote on Instagram.
“Congratulations @janamduggar and @stephenwissmann.”
It was the kind of post you’d expect from a public figure whose sister just got married.
And it could effectively conveyed the message that Jill was okay with being excluded from her sister’s wedding reception.
The next day, however, Jill posted a very different Instagram post, sparking accusations that she was trying to steal the show from her older sister.
Jill causes a stir with an announcement at a strange time
“An edited/updated edition of our book will be out soon!” Jill wrote under the above post.
“Be on the lookout and pick up your copy wherever books are sold.”
Apparently Jill is promoting a new edition of her controversial memoirs.
This book promises new information and updates about how the author’s life has changed in the year since the publication of her first book.
It seems like a typical Instagram promotional post. But many of Jill’s followers were upset by the timing.
“This seems like attention seeking. Let Jana be in the spotlight for at least one day…” commented one Instagram user.
“Can you please give Jana her moment and stop being an opportunist? I support you and Jill but this is in poor taste,” another added, according to Yahoo! News.
“Why wasn’t Jill at the wedding? Did Jill go?” wondered another, while someone else wrote.
“How sad that Jana didn’t include her in her wedding celebration… Jimbo has too much influence.”
What is Jim Bob’s involvement in all this?
Yes, some fans believe that Jim Bob Duggar ordered Jana to exclude Jill from their wedding reception.
We have no idea if that’s the case. But if so, his motive was probably his anger over Jill’s book and her participation in the exposé docuseries. Radiant, happy people.
Did Jill want to take a swipe at her father by promoting her memoirs the day after Jana’s big day?
However, she had a lot of support from fans who not I think she was trying to push Jana out of the spotlight.
“You have to tell the truth. Don’t listen to all the naysayers!” wrote one commenter.
“Yes, it’s great that Jana finally got married, but it’s okay for you to tell the truth too!
“Don’t let others speak your truth. And don’t let shaming corner you either,” added another.
The Duggars may be keeping a fairly low profile these days.
But it’s clear that fans are still very interested in the drama unfolding within the family.
