The former “Gossip Girl” player and the former Vancouver Canucks center first made their relationship public in 2019

Jessica Szohr and her boyfriend said “Yes!”

The gossip GirlThe 39-year-old alumnus married former Vancouver Canucks player Brad Richardson in a picturesque wedding at the luxury Pine Canyon Golf Club in Flagstaff, Arizona, surrounded by 150 of his closest family and friends.

“It was the most magical, beautiful day where we met the people we love most,” said Szohr The knotwhich had an exclusive event.

She also told the outlet that while she and Richardson, 39, had considered getting married in Italy, Flagstaff has “given us so many memories as a family over the last few years.” She explained, “There’s such a vibe up there in the mountains. I wanted to pair that with this gorgeous, chic and fancy dress, but I still wanted the flowers to have a bohemian look. It was like pieces of a puzzle coming together.”

The bride wore three different Galia Lahav dresses on her big day, including the designer’s Tokyogown, which was described in a press release to PEOPLE as “a fashionable, bold look” that “perfectly reflected her personality.” She accessorized with a custom veil designed by Galia Lahav’s head designer Sharon Sever, which also featured a special crystal-embellished quote from her grandfather that read, “Take time to smell the roses.”

“My grandpa was such a big part of my childhood and he always told us that,” she said The knot“My life went by so quickly with gossip Girlbut he always said, ‘Make sure you take the time to smell the roses.’ That stuck with me.”

At the wedding after-party, she and Richardson danced their first dance to “Faithfully” before changing into a custom strapless Galia Lahav mini dress that featured even more crystals and feathers on the top. She could be seen dancing the night away with her groom in the form-fitting dress, with her hair in a ponytail.

Several CW stars attended the soirée, including Nina Dobrev, who served as her maid of honor and wore the Galia Lahav Elise dress in sage green. Chace Crawford, who also starred in Gossip Girl, was also present at the ceremony.

Szohr and Richardson went Instagram official in 2019 and welcomed their first child together, daughter Bowie Ella Richardson, nearly two years later on January 11, 2021.

In April of the same year, it first appeared on Szohr’s Instagram profile, when the actress shared a photo of the duo wearing cowboy hats at the Stagecoach Music Festival, captioning the photo: “This is 🇺🇸 🙂 ❤️🤠💙 #stagecoaching.”

Later that year, she wrote, “I love him! 🐊 🧩❤️” alongside a photo of the two expressing their affection.

The couple happily announced their engagement in May 2022 with a black-and-white photo on Instagram that clearly showed off her diamond ring.

“I said yes!” Szohr wrote in the caption, friends like Crawford wrote “I love you guys” in the comments section and actress Claire Holt sent her best wishes to the couple, saying, “Ohhhh congratulations!!!! 😍😍😍.”

Just days before he proposed, Richardson – who will play his final season in the NHL in 2022 – posted a sweet tribute to Szohr in honor of Mother’s Day.

“Happy Mother’s Day to an amazing mother and person,” he wrote in a May 8 Instagram post alongside a carousel of photos of Szohr with her daughter and with Richardson’s older daughter Lexi and ex-wife Lauren Hunt. “We love you!”

Szohr first announced the pregnancy in September 2020 with an Instagram post in which she expressed that she was “filled with joy!” with a black-and-white snap of the two embracing while Richardson smiles and looks down at her belly. She shared the same photo on her Instagram Story, adding, “Surprise!”
