Whether at Ohio State or now in the NFL, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has impressed onlookers with the hands, feet and legs he has made into an All-American and a first-round NFL draft pick.

He also got to show off his arm a bit in his fourth game of the 2024 NFL season.

While his Seattle Seahawks team was facing the Detroit Lions on third-and-16 on Monday Night Football, Smith-Njigba caught a pass from Geno Smith one yard behind the line of scrimmage. After advancing to the middle of the field and a tackler coming his way, the former Ohio State star threw a side-swipe across the field to Zach Charbonnet, who caught the pass and ran 16 yards for the first down.

From there, the Seahawks’ drive stalled and they stumbled five plays later.

Smith-Njigba had four catches for 24 yards in the first half. In the first three games of his second NFL season, he had 17 catches for 175 yards. As a rookie last season, he had 63 catches for 628 yards and four touchdowns for Seattle, which made him the No. 20 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Smith-Njigba played three seasons at Ohio State from 2020-22. The highlight of his college career was the 2021 season, in which he had 95 catches for 1,606 yards and nine touchdowns, including 15 catches for 347 yards and three touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ victory over Utah in the Rose Bowl. His 347 receiving yards were the most ever by an FBS player in a bowl game, and his 15 receiving yards tied the Ohio State single-game record.
