Jaron Glover back, Nick Marsh questionable against OSU

Jaron Glover will be active for Saturday’s game against Ohio State after missing the last two games due to injury.

East Lansing — Michigan State will have at least one of its key receivers back in the rotation when it takes on No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday night.

Jaron Glover was not included in the team’s pregame availability report, meaning he should be active for Saturday’s game after missing the previous two games due to injury. Meanwhile, true freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh was upgraded to questionable for the Buckeyes after missing last game due to injury.

Wide receivers Antonio Gates and Alante Brown remain out due to injuries.

Other players listed as opted out include cornerbacks Ade Willie and Chance Rucker and tight end Michael Masunas.

Offensive tackle Stanton Ramil was listed as questionable.

Saturday will be Gates’ second consecutive absence and Brown’s fourth after he suffered an injury in the season opener.

Meanwhile, Willie served as the Spartans’ reserve cornerback for some time while also taking snaps on special teams.

Ramil’s potential absence could spell even more trouble for the Spartans’ already thin offensive line. Right backs Gavin Broscious and Kristin Phillips both suffered season-ending injuries in the first three weeks of the season.

Broscious left the Sept. 14 win with an apparent left leg injury after replacing Phillips as the starter in the Maryland and Prairie View A&M games. Phillips, a redshirt sophomore, is on the mend after undergoing surgery this month to repair an injury he suffered in the season opener.

Defensive back Khalil Majeed is also unavailable for the rest of the season after being injured in the first game.

Smith expressed optimism that Dillon Tatum and Alante Brown could return sometime toward the end of this season. Both were sidelined due to injuries related to the game against Florida Atlantic. Meanwhile, Rucker was injured on Sept. 7 at Maryland but is expected to be back in mid- to late October.
