Jamie Lee Curtis praises Lindsay Lohan on the set of “Freakier Friday”

The Oscar winner paid tribute to his co-star Lindsay Lohan in a heartfelt post on Saturday as they prepare to wrap production on the long-awaited sequel to their 2003 Disney adaptation. A crazy Fridaywhich will premiere in 2025.

“Last FRIDAY of this CRAZIEST FRIDAY or should I call it CRYDAY,” Curtis captioned a black and white selfie. “We still have a few days next week but it’s coming to an end and as I arrived at work this morning and saw the hundreds of people gathered to make it for the fans to film the movie in California, I was especially thankful for my ULTIMATE movie daughter @lindsaylohan without whom we couldn’t have made this movie. Ever. She gifted me a @suziekondi shirt after I complimented hers and I wore it today in her honor. Off to the wig and to work. Thank you for all the LOVE from @disneyd23! It was LEGENDARY!”

Lohan wrote in the comments section: “So much (love) and gratitude for YOU and this WONDERFUL experience and here’s to many more beautiful times together!!”

In A crazy FridayIn “The 40 Years of Love,” the couple played single mother Tess and her teenage daughter Anna Coleman, who, after opening an enchanted fortune cookie, swap bodies and must spend a day in each other’s shoes before returning to normal.

In the sequel, written by Jordan Weiss and directed by Nisha Ganatra, Anna is now all grown up, with a daughter of her own while also preparing to welcome a stepdaughter into her new marriage. With their new family dynamic, a new version of the body swap will occur.

Filming began in June, when Curtis and Lohan did a joint photo shoot outside their neighboring dressing trailers. “We’re back!” Lohan wrote.

The duo revealed the title of the sequel earlier this month at the D23 Expo, where Lohan raved that the film was “more fun, it’s more emotional and it’s all for you.”

Manny Jacinto, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan have been cast in the sequel, along with returning cast members Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao.
