Jaguars vs. Dolphins – Best NFL Prop Bets for Week 1 (Back Tyreek Hill, Christian Kirk

In Week 1 of the 2024 season, two playoff contenders will meet in Miami when the Miami Dolphins host the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacksonville narrowly missed the playoffs last season, but still finished above .500 in Trevor Lawrence’s third NFL season.

Now Lawrence has some new weapons – Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis – to replace Zay Jones and Calvin Ridley on offense.

In Miami, Tua Tagovailoa is an interesting target after leading the Dolphins to No. 1 offense in yardage and No. 2 offense in scoring in 2023.

While it’s not my personal goal to target Tua, I do have a favorite for his No. 1 receiver among the best NFL props in this matchup.

Opportunities via DraftKings Sportsbook.

Gabe Davis Longest Reception OVER 18.5 Yards (-120)

Last season, Gabe Davis averaged 16.58 yards per reception for the Buffalo Bills and is known for driving the field outside.

With Christian Kirk and Evan Engram likely to be the players moving the chains underneath, I’d expect Davis to clear himself for some long looks down the field. He had several games in the 2023 season where he averaged over 20 yards per catch.

Christian Kirk OVER 4.5 receptions (-145)

I am absolutely thrilled with Christian Kirk in the prop market this season.

He caught that ball in five of his 12 games last season, and Kirk caught 85 passes in 12 games. The previous season, Kirk caught a career-high 84 passes on 133 attempts.

Lawrence doesn’t have many familiar faces on offense, but Kirk is one of them. He should be the subject of plenty of attention in Week 1.

Tyreek Hill, all-time touchdown scorer (-125)

There have only been five games in the 2023 season where Tyreek Hill has failed to find the end zone, so taking him at -125 (an implied probability of 55.56) seems like a bargain.

The star receiver led the NFL with 13 receiving scores and is clearly Tagovailoa’s No. 1 target in this offense.

With the Dolphins missing Odell Beck Jr. (PUP) and River Cracraft, Hill and Waddle should be on the field as often as possible in Week 1.

Because of his superior speed, Tyreek is a scoring threat every time he touches the ball and has scored in 11 games in 2023. It’s a good bet – even at -125 – that he’ll score in Week 1.
