The Jaguars failed to even score a touchdown by landing their plane in Jacksonville in time.
After arguably the worst performance of any NFL team in a devastating 47-10 loss to the Bills in Week 3, the Jaguars just wanted to get out of Buffalo, go home to Jacksonville and lick their wounds.
However, NFL Network reported that the Jaguars were unable to depart Buffalo until after 1 a.m. ET due to mechanical problems with their plane.
Since the departure time was about 1 a.m., Jacksonville arrived quite late in his home state, almost three hours late.
The game ended around 10:30 p.m. ET, but the outcome was already decided in the first quarter.
You’d imagine the Jaguars’ locker room wasn’t happy to leave Buffalo after getting beaten so badly in prime time in front of the entire country. And it probably only got worse as they waited on the tarmac to find out what had happened this season.
The extremely late return will do them no favors on a short week in Week 4, as they will have to travel again, this time to face division rival Houston Texans.
After losing to the Bills, the Jaguars hope to earn the respect of the entire league with a win in Houston.
Otherwise, the team could consider making major changes to its personnel and staff after a completely uncompetitive game from the first drive.
Most of the work will fall to coach Doug Pederson, who must get the situation back on track quickly.
The Jaguars entered the season with high hopes of competing for the AFC South title, but are currently in last place.
Jacksonville and the Titans are 0-3, the Colts are 1-2 and the Texans lead the pack with a record of 2-1.
Pederson has been the team’s coach since 2022, succeeding Urban Meyer, who was out.
Under Pederson, the Jaguars have endured two disappointing 9-8 seasons despite undoubtedly having enough talent to make it deep into the playoffs. But their 0-3 record this season is by far the toughest pill for the franchise to swallow.
