“It will never be okay again” – What is the worst wedding faux pas?

What is the worst wedding faux pas?

Whoever is getting married, Jessica O’Sullivan of One Fab Day says there’s one red line she believes a wedding guest shouldn’t cross: never show up in white.

Speaking of MoncrieffMs O’Sullivan said society had “moved away” from the idea that black was the only colour not allowed to be worn at the ceremony.

“Traditionally, it had something of a funeral feel,” she explained.

“But I think now people can get away with it – it’s kind of chic – but they can’t get away with wearing white.

“This is grounds for termination. This will never be OK for me.”

According to Ms O’Sullivan, brides “wear all sorts of things these days,” but that doesn’t mean it’s OK to wear white.

“If you wear white and you’re not the bride, everyone at the wedding is guaranteed to be talking about you,” she said.

“The thing is, you might have gotten away with it before if you were wearing a printed garment, a short dress or a suit.

“But these days, brides have really thrown the rules out the window when it comes to their style, so a bride can show up in anything.

“We see brides in colorful dresses, maybe with embroidery, and we see them in suits and mini dresses.

“If at any point during the day you could be mistaken for the bride, you are wearing the wrong thing.”

Ms O’Sullivan added that it is “quite traditional” in the UK for all wedding guests to wear white, noting that Pippa Middleton wore a white dress at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in 2011.

So now you know that when choosing a dress, you should choose a different color unless the bride told you to wear white.
