Israeli forces injure Palestinians near Qalqilia |

Israeli forces injured several Palestinian citizens in the village of Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank on Friday.

According to media sources, occupation troops surrounded the Omar bin al-Khattab Mosque on Friday afternoon, where the weekly march against the settlements begins after Friday prayers.

Sources added that soldiers prevented many worshipers from entering the mosque before Friday prayers.

As Palestinian worshippers left the mosque after prayers, Israeli forces opened fire on them with live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas canisters.

A young man was hit by a tear gas grenade that the soldiers fired into the mosque, breaking one of its windows. Dozens of citizens suffered the toxic effects of the tear gas and were treated on the spot by local medics.

A few hours earlier, the army had entered the village, surrounded the mosque and prevented believers from performing Friday prayers, which had led to protests among the population.

According to media sources, the occupying forces fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters at the population during the clashes. No injuries were reported.

A similar report said Israeli soldiers shot a 17-year-old child with live ammunition at dawn on Friday after storming the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

On the 322nd day of the ongoing military attack on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continues to bombard and shell various regions of the coastal enclave, killing or wounding dozens of Palestinians.
