The new DC Universe has yet to announce who will play its Wonder Woman. However, all signs point to Gal Gadot – like the rest of the DCEU’s Justice League cast – not playing the role. While I mostly liked Gadot’s Wonder Woman, I don’t think she was the final casting for the character. Therefore, I think casting a new actress as the DCU’s Wonder Woman would be the ideal move to pave the way for a new era for Diana Prince, perhaps with a greater focus on her Greek connections. Adria Arjona from Hit Man would be a great choice.

Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the first drafts of the script for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 are close to being released to the studio, building excitement around the return of the MCU web-slinger and raising curiosity about which villain he’ll face off against next. With so many villains already set up in previous films, I think the most exciting thing would be to see Scorpion finally return to seek revenge on Peter after the events of Homecoming, especially given the MCU’s down-to-earth twists on its iconic Spider-Man villains thus far.

There have been a few updates on the release date of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. One of them was a musician hinting that he will be starring in the film, suggesting a 2025 release. As it stands, the animated film should either be released next year when it’s finished or as late as 2027. The reason for this is that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is set to hit the cameras in early 2025. This would most likely mean that Marvel and Sony are aiming for a 2026 release for the film, and it’s unlikely that two Spider-Man films will be released in the same year.

Channing Tatum is finally taking on the role of Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine and fans, myself included, are thrilled. It’s one of the best “cameos” in the film and his performance is being praised all over social media. I would love to see Channing return as Gambit, but it’s hard to say when a Gambit movie would fit into the MCU’s plans. After just this little taste of him, I can’t imagine anyone else in the role. He nailed the accent and looked incredible in the costume – not to mention the amazing action sequences. If he doesn’t get his own movie, I hope he shows up in movies like Avengers vs. X-Men at some point (whenever we get him).

Batman will make his debut in the new DC Universe film The Brave and the Bold. The Boys star Jensen Ackles was rumored to play Bruce Wayne, but James Gunn, the DCU’s creative director, has denied the offer. Ackles could still be cast as Batman; however, no actor has been chosen at this time and casting for the new Batman will not begin until the film’s script is completed. Given his gritty and action-packed roles in Supernatural and The Boys, as well as his voice of Batman in DC’s animated series Tomorrowverse, Ackles would be perfect for the DCU’s Dark Knight.

Henry Cavill was the last to break through in theaters, but the darker version of the Man of Steel in the DCEU never really allowed him to shine. Brandon Routh had enormous potential but was saddled with a boring film. Tyler Hoechlin is a fantastic Clark Kent and Superman and a top contender. It’s hard to put any other actors above Tom Welling, as the star had ten seasons to develop his Clark Kent in Smallville. Ultimately, Christopher Reeve is still the most iconic version of Superman with a perfect dual performance, but David Corenswet could change things up in 2025’s Superman.
