Is FSU playing today? College football schedule for the Seminoles’ next game after the Week 2 bye

The week off couldn’t have come at a better time for FSU football.

After two disappointing performances against Georgia Tech and Boston College in Weeks 0 and 1, respectively, the Seminoles are off as college football heads into Week 2 of the season. At 0-2 on the season, Mike Norvell’s squad fell out of both the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 poll this week after being ranked in the top 10 in the preseason.

While Florida State struggled at times in Week 0 against Georgia Tech, the Seminoles hit as close to rock bottom as a team can get in Week 1 against Boston College. The Seminoles were outscored by the Eagles, as Boston College finished with 369 yards of total offense compared to FSU’s 293. FSU converted just three times on third down all night, going 3 of 14 conversion attempts.

Despite throwing for over 250 yards, quarterback DJ Uiagalelei also struggled, completing only 50% of his passes and throwing a costly interception, which led to chants of “We want Brock” for backup quarterback Brock Glenn.

FSU is only the fifth team ever ranked in the top 10 of the AP poll to lose its first two games. The team returns to action in Week 3 with a home game against Memphis. Here’s what you need to know about the Seminoles’ remaining schedule:

Is there FSU football today?

No. The Seminoles currently have Week 2, the first of two off weeks this season.

With a Week 0 game in Dublin against Georgia Tech and a Monday night game against Boston College in Week 1, FSU has already played two games this season – one more than the vast majority of Division I teams.

The Seminoles will return to action in Week 3 when they welcome Memphis to Doak S. Campbell Stadium. It will be the first time FSU and Memphis have played each other since the 1990 college football season, when the Seminoles won 35-3 in Orlando.

Next Saturday’s game against Memphis kicks off a four-game series for FSU that includes the Seminoles playing Cal in Week 4, traveling to SMU in Week 5 and hosting No. 22 Clemson in Week 6 before entering their second off week of the season in Week 7.
