Much has been said about Sabrina Carpenter‘s latest album, with many online users speculating about the meaning of some of the songs, suggesting that the fan-favorite singer drew some inspiration from her brief romance with Shawn Mendes.

The couple had a fleeting romance in early 2023 before Shawn and Camila Cabello rekindled their relationship at Coachella in April, and it seems Sabrina had a lot to say. After the drama sparked by speculation about the lyrics of her new songs, fans believe Camila has now responded.

Following the release of her album “C,XOXO,” which has been described as a “love letter to Miami,” and after speaking about her past relationship both on the album and during on-stage performances, Camila now appears to be telling her side of the story with her new song “Can Friends Kiss?” as part of the project’s “Magic City Edition.”

“I don’t like your new girlfriend, she don’t touch me / When you talk about her, I get moody,” sings Camila, and her fans believe there are some similarities to Sabrina’s song “Coincidence.”

Meanwhile, Sabrina sings, “Trying to turn the past into the present,” adding, “And you lost all your common sense (You lost all your common sense) / The way you told me the truth, minus seven percent (Minus seven percent) / What a coincidence.”

While the three musicians have not yet addressed the rumors, their paths will cross at the 2024 VMAs, where they will perform. In addition to Camila, Shawn and Sabrina, Karol G will also be on stage, as well as Anitta, Chappell Roan, Megan Thee Stallion, Rauw Alejandro, Halsey and many more.
