I waited 5 years for Hunter Schafer’s new 78% horror film

Summary

  • Hunter Schafer has finally landed a leading role in the horror film “Cuckoo,” proving her depth and talent as an actress.
  • In “Cuckoo,” Schafer can show a new side as an actress and demonstrate her range in a horror setting.
  • Hopefully, “Cuckoo” is just the beginning of Schafer’s career as a movie star and will lead him to even more diverse roles.

I have been waiting Hunter Schafer to get the leading roles she deserves since her breakthrough on euphoria five years ago, and now it is finally here: her leading role in the acclaimed horror film cuckooWhile many of Schafer’s euphoria Co-stars like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney have consistently landed major film and television roles, but not everyone on the show has been so lucky. Barbie Ferreira had many of her scenes cut from Jordan Peele’s film. No and Alexa Demie has not acted in a feature film since 2020 mainstream.

Schafer is one of the best actors of the euphoria Cast, bringing a lot of depth and nuance to the character of Jules. She even brought some of her personal experiences to the role, co-writing the Jules-centric special episode “F*** Anyone Who’s Not a Sea Blob” with Sam Levinson. Schafer was supposed to be a big star, but for the most part she had to make do with small roles in films like Types of kindness And The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds and SnakesBut with her first leading role, everything changed.

“Cuckoo” is Hunter Schafer’s first leading role on television or in the cinema

Schafer has more than earned the leading roles since her breakthrough in Euphoria

Since I saw Schafer’s incredible performance in euphoriaI feel like she deserves to be a big star with leading roles in films and television shows. But so far I have been disappointed. Schafer has been limited to supporting roles, like Tigris Snow in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakesor just cameo appearances, like Anna in Types of kindnessAlso in euphoriashe’s technically a supporting character. Jules is essentially a protagonist of the show – and even has her own episode – but Zendaya is the main character and Rue is the main character.

Although Schafer is a talented and charismatic actress who could host her own projects, she has never landed a lead role in a film or television series – until now. Screenwriter and director Tilman Singer cast Schafer in the lead role of Gretchen in his horror film cuckoo. Gretchen is a teenager who moves to the German Alps to live with her father and becomes increasingly disturbed by disturbing incidents that all seem to be linked to her father’s mysterious boss. cuckoo finally gave Schafer the chance to shine in a leading role.

As Schafer’s first horror project cuckoo has given her the opportunity to show a little more of her range. One of the coolest things about Jules in euphoria is that she is practically fearless. Even when Nate Jacobs comes at her with a knife, she doesn’t panic; she is simply superior to him in everyone’s eyes. cuckoo gave Schafer the chance to play a character who is prone to fear and shrinks away in the face of danger – and she is just as authentic in portraying a frightened character as she is in portraying the fearless Jules.

And that cuckoo Give Schafer the chance to play a frightened character in a horror scenario; more generally, it also shows her ability to anchor a film as a leading actress. There is a big difference between playing a supporting role in a few scenes and leading an entire project. Schafer was already well versed in the former role, but her widely acclaimed role in cuckoo has proven that she is just as skilled in the latter.

Schafer has been cast in an as-yet-unnamed role in the upcoming miniseries
Blade Runner 2099

I hope Cuckoo is a taste of Hunter Schafer’s career after Euphoria

With a little luck, this is just the beginning of Schafer’s career as a film star

Hunter Schafer grins and leans against a wall as Jules in Euphoria

I really hope cuckoo is not an isolated case; I hope it is just the beginning of Schafer’s post-euphoria Career as a movie star. I hope it leads to more leading roles for Schaferand more opportunities to show other facets of her acting range. After starring in a horror film, she could appear in more horror projects and build a reputation as a scream queen. She could also move into other genres and become an action heroine or a comedy star – her complex, multi-layered performance in euphoria has shown that she can do pretty much anything.

Although euphoria Season 3 is still planned for the foreseeable future, the actors are all getting older and it is clear that the show is coming to an end. If season 3 does indeed come, it will probably be the end of the series. Hopefully cuckoo is just the first of many great opportunities for Hunter Schafer to headline well-known projects and spread their acting wings.
