Kylie (@kyl13gilbert) has over 15,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares her shopping trips.

She went viral on the social media app when she compared a $1.25 product from Dollar Tree to Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel for dry skin.

DO WE HAVE A DEAL?

She held up the Neutrogena product and revealed that it costs significantly more than the Dollar Tree version.

“It costs $18 at Walmart,” she said.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Moisturizer Extra Dry Skin has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars at Walmart.

The brand recommends applying it to the face and neck after cleansing the skin.

One shopper said the moisturizer left her skin “smooth, silky and fresh,” while another raved that it was “super hydrating.”

The product’s blue packaging could be confused with Dollar Tree’s budget alternative.

Both products contain hyaluronic acid.

“This is B-Pure’s moisturizing gel cream,” Kylie said.

“They say it’s comparable to Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel, so let’s see.”

I love being snazzy on a budget – I hit the jackpot at Dollar Tree with new serums and a skincare knockoff with “fall vibes”

She put a small amount of each product on her hand to compare the consistency.

As she reached her hand toward the camera, the B-Pure gel cream began to run down while the Neutrogena product stayed in place.

“This is, as you can see, much more watery, it is the B-Pure,” she said.

“Final thoughts: B-Pure is much more watery and the smell is a little different.

“I don’t know how they work, but I have no idea what the difference is.”

What is hyaluronic acid?

According to Medical News Today, hyaluronic acid has moisturizing, anti-aging and wound-healing benefits.

The substance occurs naturally in the body, but its amount decreases with age.

Many people use it in topical skin care products, supplements, or as an injection to improve their skin’s hydration and look younger.

PERSONAL PREFERENCES

Hundreds of people liked Kylie’s video, and the comments section was divided about which product they preferred.

“Glad you did this! I wanted to try the Dollar Tree version,” one person said.

“I just saved $1.25. Sometimes you get what you pay for, lol. Thanks.”

“Believe me, it’s literally the same thing,” commented another.

“One has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, which is actually good for dry skin. That’s the only difference.”

“I’m addicted to Dollar Tree lol I have a lot of their beauty knockoffs,” added a third.

MORE BEAUTY DUPES

The product review came after TikToker Victoria Sofia (@victoriasofia.m) went viral by sharing a shopping spree.

She bought Native Dupes for $1.25 at Dollar Tree that gave her “all the fall vibes.”

Native Body Wash in the scent Pumpkin Spice Latte now costs $11.72 at Walmart.

Victoria also said she hit the “jackpot” when she discovered a selection of new serums.
