Killua Zoldyck is one of the main characters of HunterXHunterand much of his story is driven by his complicated relationship with his family. With no fewer than four generations of the Zoldyck family featured in the story, it can be difficult at times to keep track of everyone’s connections to one another. But when you break down the family tree, it’s largely straightforward.

There are many Nen users in Hunter x Hunter and some of them were killed in action: some in battle, some in other ways.
The oldest living member of the Zoldyck family is Maha Zoldyck. A colleague of Hunter Association Chairman Isaac Netero, Maha is the grandfather of Zeno Zoldyck. His wife was rumored to be alive as well, but she has never appeared in the present. HunterXHunterand nothing is known about them, not even their names. Zigg Zoldyck, a friend of Netero who accompanied him on his expedition to the Black Continent, is said to be Maha’s son and Zeno’s father, but since he also never appears in the modern era of the series, this has not been confirmed.
Zeno Zoldyck is the father of Silva and the grandfather of Killua and his siblings. Zeno has no siblings, his wife’s status is unknown, but it has been confirmed that she was an assassin and he, like his father and grandfather, shared a friendship with Netero before his death. Silva Zoldyck is the current patriarch of the Zoldyck family and is also an only child. As the head of his family, Silva is very proud of the Zoldyck traditions and does not tolerate any deviations by his children from his plans for them. Kikyo Zoldyck, an equally cold-hearted assassin, is Silva’s wife and appears to be completely divorced from her birth family. Together they have five children: Illumi, Milluki, Killua, Alluka and Kalluto.

Hunter x Hunter has built a healthy and loyal fanbase thanks to its great characters, both heroes and villains.
The youngest generation of the Zoldyck family consists of the five children of Silva and Kikyo. The eldest child, Illumi, is the most loyal and devoted to his family, as well as the strongest physically, possessing a similar strength to his close confidant Hisoka. Illumi believes that the Zoldycks should not interact with anyone else, and is frighteningly possessive of his little brother Killua, wanting him more than anything. so that he can fulfill his role as rightful heir and murderer. Milluki is a little younger than Illumi. Milluki Zoldyck differs from the rest of his family in that he is not a fighter at all, but relies on technology for his assassinations. Although his parents look down on him because of his weakness, he is much closer to his grandfather.
The second youngest of the Zoldyck children is Alluka. She is the only daughter of Silva and Kikyo, and also the only one of her siblings to receive training as an assassin. Alluka’s lack of training is attributed to the fact that she shares her body with Nanika, a being from the Black Continent whose power surpasses that of all known Nen users and who can grant any wish. Alluka considers Nanika a dear friend and cares for her as if she were a family member. Fearing Nanika, Alluka is locked in her bedroom for years until she is finally rescued by Killua. While others, notably Illumi, are interested in Nanika’s power, Killua is the only Zoldyck who loves Alluka, as shown by him being the only member of his family to address Alluka by her proper pronouns.
The youngest of the Zoldyck siblings and the youngest member of the entire Zoldyck family is Kalluto. At the beginning of the HunterXHunterKalluto loves his entire family, especially Kikyo and Killua. Kalluto’s devotion to keeping his family together and his care for Killua are so strong that Kalluto chases after Killua after he leaves home to travel with Gon. Kalluto, already an extremely powerful Nen user, joins the Phantom Troupe and takes Hisoka’s place after the latter is exposed as a traitor. Kalluto is cared for and teased by the older members of the notorious gang of thieves and murderers, becoming especially close to Phinks. After Killua frees Alluka from the Zoldycks’ estate, Illumi also joins the Phantom Troupe and takes Uvogin’s place. to look after his little brother and find Hisoka, who hired Illumi to kill him.

As the greatest prodigy the Zoldyck family has seen in generations, Killua begins HunterXHunter as Silva’s heir, despite being younger than Illumi and Milluki. Killua initially loves and respects his parents and grandfather, even though he also fears them, was forced by them to be a murderer, and has been tortured by them his entire life. For Killua, this is all just normal. When Killua learns what they did to Alluka for years, he turns his back on his parents and the rest of his family completely, although he maintains a friendly relationship with Zeno and Kikyo couldn’t be prouder of the brutality he shows in fighting them.
Killua’s most formative relationship within his family is undoubtedly that with Illumi. Like many older siblings, Illumi took on the role of a third parent and trained Killua alongside Silva during his younger years. To maintain his control over Killua, Illumi placed a Nen needle in his brain when he was a young boy, forcing him to run away from any opponents stronger than himself. This needle also blocked Killua’s memories of Alluka. Illumi stalks and torments Killua all the time Hunter x Hunter, determined to strip him of his humanity and mold him into the perfect assassin. The biggest turning point in Killua’s character development comes during the Chimera Ant development, when he is finally able to overcome Illumi’s manipulations and the fears and worries he has instilled in him, and rips the Nen Needle out of his head.
Killua’s relationship with Milluki is similarly antagonistic, but far less traumatic for Killua. The brothers despise each other. Milluki sees Killua as an ungrateful and disrespectful brat and relishes the chance to brutally torture him as punishment for disobedience, while Killua finds Milluki to be, on the whole, just annoying. Killua’s relationship with Kalluto, meanwhile, is questionable, as while Kalluto is known to care deeply for his big brother, Killua has never spoken about his youngest brother.

Hunter x Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi caused a stir on social media this week when he hinted that he had been working on the manga.
During the 13th Hunter Association Chairman Election Arc, after Illumi has just removed his Nen Needle, Killua rushes to save his little sister Alluka from the rest of the family. He feels guilty for forgetting her and needs Nanika’s strength to restore Gon’s body before he dies. Killua had decided at the end of the Zoldyck Family Arc that he didn’t want to be an assassin but a hunter, but here he finally breaks his ties with the rest of his family.
Alluka and Nanika are the only family Killua needs, and he gives up his place as heir to the Zoldyck family and instead decides to dedicate his life to protecting that family.. Since Killua has always been nicer to her than to anyone else, Alluka idolizes her big brother, even though she takes great pleasure in playing pranks on him. With Killua out of the picture, Illumi is ready to take over Silva’s legacy. However, with Hisoka now planning to kill him along with the rest of the Phantom Troupe, Milluki is the only child left for Silva and Kikyo if he and Kalluto lose their lives to the magician.
Compared to other major anime families, the Zoldycks’ family tree is fairly straightforward. Mysteries such as Zigg’s relationship to the rest of his family, Kikyo’s background, and the identity of Zeno’s wife remain, but it’s doubtful that this information would complicate things significantly.

Hunter x Hunter follows the adventures of Gon Freecss, who attempts to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a hunter by passing the notoriously difficult hunter exams. Along the way, he teams up with other characters, including Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua.
