The 76th Emmy Awards, television’s biggest night, take place on Sunday.
“The Bear,” the popular FX series set in a Chicago sandwich shop, received 23 nominations this year, breaking the comedy record of 22 nominations set by NBC hit “30 Rock” in 2009.
In the television drama category, “Shōgun” tops the list this year with 25 nominees.
Here you will find a guide with everything you need to know before the ceremony.
Father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, who starred together in the Emmy-winning comedy “Schitt’s Creek,” will be the first father-son duo to host the awards ceremony.
“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a real quarantine tent, the prospect of hosting in a real theater this year was incentive enough,” Eugene and Dan Levy said in a statement. “We’re excited to toast this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with all of you.”
Some past favorites, including “Succession” and “Ted Lasso,” are out of the running this year, but “The Crown,” “The Morning Show” and “Only Murders in the Building” are the current “legacy shows” with multiple nominations.
“Shōgun” will go into the night with a lot of hardware thanks to the Creative Arts Emmys, where the show has already won 14 Emmys in technical and creative categories.
The 76th Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC and stream on Hulu the following day.
