How to watch Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi in “Unfinished Beef” on Netflix

You may know Netflix as a go-to place for romantic series and star-studded action movies, but how about a hot dog eating contest between two titans competing against each other?

If watching rivals eat food sounds like the perfect use of your subscription, Netflix is offering a live stream of Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef on Labor Day. The event will pit Joey Chestnut against Takeru Kobayashi, who have 16 and 6 wins, respectively, at the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Contest on July 4. The last time they faced off in 2009, Chestnut came out on top. The Netflix match will add a new chapter to “a rivalry that’s been simmering for 15 years,” says the streamer.

Actor Rob Riggle and former WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia host the exciting contest, and there are two preliminary matches before Chestnut and Kobayashi begin the hot dog contest. Find out more about when you can watch the hot dog contest here.

Release date for Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef

You can watch the live event on Netflix on Monday, September 2nd at 12:00 p.m. PT (3:00 p.m. ET).

Before Chestnut and Kobayashi face off, two culinary extravaganzas await. Competitive eater and YouTuber Matt Stonie will compete in a chicken wing eating contest against Olympians Ryan Murphy, Max Irving and Ryan Lochte. Professional eater Leah Shutkever will attempt to set a fruit-eating record by eating more watermelon than ever before in three minutes.

No one has beaten Chestnut’s record of 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes at the Nathan’s contest. Notably, the exceptional eater was disqualified from this year’s competition after signing a deal with Impossible Foods, which sells plant-based hot dogs.

Netflix’s plans include Netflix Standard with ads for $7 per month, Netflix Standard for $15.50 per month, and Netflix Premium for $23 per month. When you watch a live event like Chestnut vs. Kobayashi on Netflix, you can not only watch it live, but you can also restart, pause, and rewind. And Netflix allows you to stream later if you miss the real-time action.
