Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. was born on October 20, 1971, the second of three children. His fascination for the Peanuts Character Snoopy earned him a nickname that stuck with him into adulthood. Today, most of us know Calvin by his stage name Snoop Dogg (who coincidentally first became a coach at NBC‘S The voice this season).

The Doggfather of hip-hop started rapping in school hallways, thrilled by the feeling of drawing a crowd. A few years later, he joined forces with the likes of Nate Dogg, Warren G, and Dr. Dre, shaping ’90s West Coast hip-hop. The combination of street credibility, a distinctive vocal style, and an abundance of charm brought Snoop into hearts and homes around the world. Today, he has morphed into half a hundred different forms.

Having accomplished the primary task of becoming a cultural phenomenon, Snoop – also known as Snoop Doggy Dogg, Snoop Lion, Snoopzilla, The Doggfather, Snoop DO Double G, or simply Snoop – is now busy fulfilling secondary tasks such as hanging out with Martha Stewart, commentating on the Olympics, and hosting the 26th season of The voice. Snoop’s character occupies a large space and casts a long shadow over the zeitgeist, leaving only one real question unanswered…

For comparison, the average height of men in the United States is 5’9″, which means Snoop is more than half a foot ahead of the rest of us. But what does 6’4″ really mean, and how can we imagine Snoop standing in front of us? Let’s count the possibilities.

How big is Snoop Dogg as a real dog?

Snoop is more than just a nickname. He has an affinity for dogs and animals of all shapes, sizes and types. He even has his own brand of pet accessories called Snoop Doggie Doggs. Of course, there are dogs of different breeds with different dimensions. If we want to measure Snoop’s size in dogs, we must first select the dog.

An average medium-sized dog has a shoulder height of about 20 inches, which means Snoop is about 3.8 dogs tall, but we can get even more specific. Snoop’s own pet dogs include or have included a boxer, a pit bull, a labradoodle, and a French bulldog named Frank, among others. Based on the average shoulder height of these breeds, Snoop is 3.3 boxers, 3.9 pit bulls, 3.38 labradoodles, or 6.3 Frank the French bulldog.

With cockroaches?

During a 2023 interview with cult commentator Nardwuar, Snoop revealed a temporary kinship with a cockroach. As Snoop tells it, he moved into an apartment and found it inhabited by a cockroach. After several failed attempts to get rid of it, Snoop welcomed the cockroach into the Doggs’ house. If you can’t beat it, let it join you.

Snoop started putting food out for the little creature and named it “The Gooch.” When Snoop moved out, the animal was, according to Snoop’s memory, almost the size of a dollar bill, about six inches. A truly monstrous cockroach. The average cockroach is only 1.5 inches long, and you would have to have about 50 of them standing on each other’s shoulders to be as big as Snoop.

For platinum records?

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) Gold, Platinum and Diamond certification system is one of the most recognized awards in the music business and Snoop has many certified records.

His first certified records were “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)” and “Gin and Juice”, both singles from Snoop’s debut album. From behindThe album itself was certified platinum, as was The Dog Father (1997), The game should be sold and not told (1998), Top Dogg without limit (1999) and so on. The pattern continued with gold and platinum albums and singles, one after the other. Recently, Snoop took home certified records for 2007’s “Drop it Like it’s Hot” featuring Pharrell and 2024’s “Bad Decisions” by Benny Blanco featuring BTS and Snoop Dogg.

Certified records have the same dimensions as regular vinyl records, which are 12 inches in diameter and about 2 millimeters wide. You’d have to stack 6.3 of them on top of each other to be as tall as Snoop, or a pancake stack of about 950 records lined up in a row to form a gold and platinum column.

In The voice Chairs?

The coaches change practically every season The voicebut the chairs remain steadfastly one of the show’s most iconic features. Like tonight in Season 26, each season begins with the blind auditions, where the coaches sit with their backs to the audience and select their team members based solely on their acting talent.

These are the thrones on which each coach builds their sonic kingdom. They come complete with seat heaters, cup holders and a series of buttons for contestants to use when turning, blocking and stealing. Each chair is a giant rock and roll armchair, standing 7 feet 4 inches (2.23 m) tall. Despite Snoop’s impressive stature, he is only 3/4 of a coach chair tall.

In the other Agree Trainer?

Gwen Stefani is 5’6″ tall from head to toe. Reba McEntire, the Queen of Country, is 1″ taller at 5’7″. Michael Bublé is only a few inches taller at 5’10”. And Snoop Dogg, at 6’4″, towers over the other coaches in season 26. That’s 3’6″ like Michael Bublé, 3’4″ like Reba McEntire and 3’5″ like Gwen Stefani.

Season 26 of The voice will decide once and for all how Snoop’s mentorship stacks up against his coaching rivals. We can run through the numbers today to compare sizes, but we’ll have to wait until the finale to see who’s truly the greatest.
