The NFL season has officially begun and the league’s first game Sunday is just around the corner. But wait, you don’t have an NFL Sunday Ticket yet. Here’s how.
Why is NFL Sunday Ticket so popular with relocated NFL fans and fantasy football players alike? Because the programming package allows you to watch all NFL games outside of your destination country that are not broadcast on your local CBS, Fox and NBC stations.
This Sunday, CBS and Fox will be airing a dozen NFL games starting between 1:00 p.m. ET and 4:25 p.m. ET.
Prior to the 2023-2024 NFL season, the NFL Sunday Ticket package was broadcast by satellite service DirecTV. But in December 2022, Google acquired the rights to the package, paying about $2 billion annually for seven years, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Price Breakdown for NFL Sunday Tickets
You still have a few options if you opt for NFL Sunday Ticket. Google is using the start of the NFL season to attract new subscribers to its YouTube TV streaming service, which has more than 100 channels, including local broadcasters ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and PBS. You can save even more if you bundle the two services:
- NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube TV: The price for NFL Sunday Ticket and a YouTube TV subscription is currently four payments of $167.74 per month, totaling $670.96 (a $100 savings if you buy both separately). After those four months, you’ll be charged $72.99 per month for the basic YouTube TV package. For $10.99 per month ($43.96 for the season), you can also add the NFL RedZone channel hosted by Scott Hanson, who will cover the big plays live during Sunday games for over seven hours and can show up to 8 games simultaneously via the famous “Octobox.”
- NFL Sunday Ticket without YouTube TV: The price to watch NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube is four payments of $119.75 each, for a total of $479 for the season. You can also add NFL RedZone for $10.99 per month.

How to get the student discount for the NFL Sunday Ticket
College or university students can subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket for $199, saving $280 off the regular price of $479 – and they can add NFL RedZone for $10.
To receive the NFL Sunday Ticket student discount offer, students can sign up on the YouTube site. YouTube recommends using a personal email address to set up NFL Sunday Ticket (you’re looking through the NFL page on YouTube) as some university networks have restrictions on .edu accounts.
Students can then purchase either an NFL Sunday Ticket subscription ($199) or an NFL Sunday Ticket with NFL RedZone ($209), confirm their student status, and provide a payment method.
