Here’s how you can follow the special event

Apple’s next iPhones are almost here and will be announced on Monday, September 9. Here’s everything you need to know to follow the announcements, when and how they happen. And you can read all the details about what will happen after the keynote here.

Apple special event: date and time

The event will take place on Monday, September 9th and has the theme “It’s Glowtime” to highlight the glow effect that Siri will have on the new iPhones. It’s an important sign that Apple places a lot of emphasis on Apple Intelligence, which will certainly be the case at the event.

It’s important to stress that this keynote is taking place on a Monday. Apple has never launched an iPhone on a Monday. It’s usually a Tuesday or occasionally a Wednesday.

The reason for the change has not yet been officially announced, but it is likely that the overlap with the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, was part of it.

The time is exactly as expected: 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (that’s 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and 6:00 p.m. for the UK). This matches the time Apple almost always chooses.

Apple special event: How you can be there

There are several ways to watch the filmed keynote. While it is not a live event, there will be an in-person portion for members of the press who can watch the broadcast at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park.

First, you can go to the Apple website. On the event page, it says “Tune in on apple.com or the Apple TV app.” So not only is it on the website, but if you have an Apple TV, iPhone, iPad or Mac, you can also watch it on the Apple TV app. The app is also available directly on a number of smart TVs. Note that you don’t need to be an Apple TV+ subscriber to watch it

Then there’s the YouTube option, which is Apple’s YouTube channel. The wait page will confirm how many days are left until the special event, and will even list the date and time in the time zone you’re watching in.

Some other sites are also hosting the keynote, which has the advantage of allowing reporters to comment on the announcements in real time, but the disadvantage is that you may not want that kind of disruption.

Now we don’t have to wait long.
