Three months ago, the 33-year-old woman married her 35-year-old husband, with whom she has been together for four years.

Her husband has always lived an incredibly reserved life, even before she met him.

When they first started dating, her husband wasn’t so vague about his financial situation. He wouldn’t give details, but he was honest with her about his credit card debt and the amount of money in the bank.

When they got engaged, her husband got a new job and stopped talking about his finances altogether. He has been secretive ever since.

“He knows how much I earn and all the details of my finances, but when I ask him, he acts like I’m invading his privacy or strangling him!” she exclaimed.

“I once asked him how much he earned per month so that we could plan our budget and responsibilities together. He refused to tell me the exact salary, gave me an average and I didn’t insist on knowing at the time.”

“However, he recently told me that he had taken out a loan for our wedding. I spoke to him about it in a normal way and wanted to help him. He said it was a large sum but didn’t want to tell me the amount. I tried to explain to him that there should be no secrets in our marriage and that I want transparency and shared responsibility in our marriage.”

She believes this is the foundation of a stable marriage: the ability to be honest with one’s spouse.

She asked her husband if he trusted her and he stated that the amount of the loan did not matter, that it did not matter.
