“He can do a lot with the ball”

The 2024 season is just around the corner for the Kansas City Chiefs and they will face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.

In the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis shares his thoughts on undrafted rookie Carson Steele, who joins the team after impressing everyone in training camp and the preseason.

“I think he’s a little more than a fullback. He’s athletic and can do a lot with the ball in his hands,” Kelce said. “He’s also a great special teams player. A coach who will do whatever you ask me to do.”

Steele joins a Chiefs team looking to make it three straight with veterans like Kelce, and he describes the mindset heading into the new season.

“You don’t get to the Super Bowl by thinking about winning the Super Bowl; you get to the Super Bowl by slowly building that routine of success – week after week,” Kelce said. “We know it’s a process you have to go through. You can’t peak too early. You can’t look that far into the future and just assume you’re going to get there.”

Kansas City’s team this season is a healthy mix of veteran and young players focused on getting back to a Super Bowl, and Kelce knows it’s a long battle that can’t be accomplished in a week.
