Hawaiian Electric reports continued progress in restoring power to remaining customers impacted by Tropical Storm Hone. Crews are working to restore power to some remaining customers impacted by the storm on Maui and Oʻahu.

As of 11:30 a.m., crews continued working to restore power to some Maui customers who were still without power following the weekend storm.

As of 8 a.m. today, approximately 248 customers in Hawaii are without power. Crews are continuing to resolve isolated outages in the following areas:

  • Pāpaʻikou and Pepeʻekeo
  • Hawaiian beaches and coasts
  • Subdivision ʻĀinaloa
  • Nānāwale Estates, Leilani Estates, Kalapana and Seaview Estates
  • Mountain View, Glenwood, Royal Hawaiian Estates and Fern Forest
  • Volcano Village, Mauna Loa Estates, Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, Volcano Golf Course Subdivision
  • Waipunahina, Paʻauilo and Kalōpā Mauka and Makai
  • From Āhualoa to Pāʻauhau

Customers who do not reside in these areas are asked to call the Hawaiʻi Island Trouble Line at 808-969-6666 if they continue to be without power.

Hawaiian Electric is also working with the County of Hawaii to provide important information and resources at county shelters at the Kea’au Armory in Shipman Park and the Pāhoa Neighborhood Facility in William “Billy” Kenoi District Park. Both shelters will allow pets and have Wi-Fi connections. Company representatives will be at the shelters from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
