The WWE Universe has missed “The Wise Man” in recent weeks.
During an interview with Sam Roberts at Fanatics Fest NYC over the weekend, Paul Heyman discussed his absence from WWE television since refusing to acknowledge Solo Sikoa as his “tribal chief” and since being attacked by The Bloodline.
During the discussion, the WWE Hall of Fame legend talked about his possible return to WWE television now that “The Original Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns is back.
“I don’t want to be on TV just to be on TV,” Heyman said. “Everything we do has to be relevant. That’s the whole theory behind the island of relevance. If I came back at SummerSlam with Roman Reigns, it wouldn’t have meant anything. I couldn’t contribute to that moment. If I came back on TV last week with Roman Reigns, I couldn’t have done anything. I could have introduced him, OK, but that’s a moment and not a moment that’s stretching out.”
Heyman continued, “It goes back to the saying, ‘Winning and losing matter.’ ‘By the order of the tribal chief.’ When I return to television. If I return to television. If I do, this moment will set the storyline for a whole year. I will come back when it’s relevant for me to come back. When I need to come back. When I can give something to Roman Reigns and not just ride on his coattails and hang on his fame. I love Jimmy Hart, I really do. I have so much respect for Jimmy Hart, but I don’t want to be Jimmy Hart wearing the boas for Hulk Hogan. I want to do something that adds so much to the show that you sit there and say, ‘I love Roman Reigns, but my God, I love him so much along with the wise man Paul Heyman.'”
Heyman summed up his thoughts on the matter in typical Paul Heyman fashion by saying, “If you really want to know if and when I’m coming back, stay tuned, you bitches. You ain’t seen nothing yet.”
