Owensboro Times is pleased to announce a long-awaited expansion of our daily sports coverage. We now offer our readers recaps, game reports and features from Hancock County!
For the past 6 years, the Owensboro Times has been your go-to source for all things sports at Apollo, Daviess County, Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic and Trinity high schools. Now we’re taking the excitement to the next level by adding Hancock County to our lineup!
“Our roots in Owensboro-Daviess County run deep, and we’re ready to grow even stronger by adding Hancock County to our ranks,” said Editor-in-Chief Ryan Richardson. “We knew from day one that we wanted to expand our coverage to Hancock County, and we’ve been working diligently over the past few months to finally make it happen. We’re excited about the possibilities this presents!”
Hancock County Athletic Director Bobby Eubanks shared our excitement.
“Our kids are grateful to have more community exposure through OT. It gives them another opportunity to showcase their talents,” he said. “Overall, we have hard-working coaches and student-athletes throughout the seasons and we’re happy to see them get the recognition they deserve.”
Eubanks added that the athletic department has undergone some restructuring in recent months and that they have worked together on a new vision for Hornet sports.
“Our vision is to create a culture of champions guided by our unwavering core values of loyalty, respect, teamwork, resilience and integrity,” Eubanks said. “Owensboro Times has made a big impression in Owensboro-Daviess County and we are excited to be part of their expanded coverage area as we continue to grow our sports department.”
With this expansion, the Owensboro Times aims to highlight the remarkable accomplishments and heartwarming stories of Hancock County’s student-athletes. Our commitment to local sports has never been stronger, and we are ready to innovate and enhance our coverage like never before.
OT also invites the community to celebrate this new partnership! Come to Calhoun on September 13th when Hancock takes on McLean County in a must-see football game. We have gifts and lots of surprises in store!
But that’s not all – our coverage has already begun. We’ve already started incorporating Hancock sports into our daily recaps, and you can look forward to season previews over the next few days that will give you a taste of what to expect from HCHS’s fall sports teams. As the season heats up, we’ll also include features highlighting standout performances by players and teams across all sports.
