Google confirms Android 15 rollout for Pixel phones in October

In the past, Google usually launched a new version of Android alongside its flagship Pixel phones. However, this year the company broke that pattern by releasing the Pixel 9 early, which was still running the 10-month-old Android 14. A recent report suggested that Google would not roll out Android 15 to Pixel devices next month as it focuses on improving stability. Now, Google has inadvertently confirmed this.

October is actually the month Android15 comes

A new report shows that Google has updated the release notes for the Android Beta Exit OTA (over-the-air update) that is sent to devices when they leave the Android beta program. The notes clearly state: Android15 is scheduled for release in October. The release notes now advise users who are Android15 stable update to “Ignore this OTA until Android15 will be available in October.” Since this information comes directly from Google, it is pretty certain that the Android15 The update for Pixel will be released in October.

Although October is confirmed, the exact date when Google will start releasing the update remains a mystery. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will be earlier in the month and not mid-October as some rumors have suggested. The Android15 A stable update is expected to be available for all Pixel phones starting from the Pixel 6 series.

Google apparently waited to launch Android15 with the Pixels 9 series in August to prioritize platform stability. New Android versions often come with bugs at launch, but this time Google wants to avoid that with Android15. So the tech giant is taking more time to iron out all the issues, which I think is the smarter move. After all, it’s better to have a smooth release even if it means waiting a little longer, right?
