Gintama: Kintama Arc film in cinemas from November 22nd for three weeks

Gintama: Kintama Arc will be released as a film and is scheduled to run in Japanese theaters for three weeks starting November 22nd. The story arc spanned four episodes (253-256) in the anime and focused on Sakata Kintoki, a blonde Gintoki lookalike. It will be re-edited for the new limited release, the main image of which can be seen below.

The Gintama Series has a successful TV anime adaptation by Sunrise and later BN Pictures. It started with an OVA by Sunrise (made for Jump Festa 2006). BN Pictures took over the animation with the fourth season titled Gintama°. In addition to the TV anime, which consisted of 367 episodes and ended in 2018, there are several OVAs, films and specials. The last part was a film entitled Gintama: The Very Lastwhich premiered in 2021.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English as Gin Tamaand they describe the story for the first volume:
Shady alien moneylenders, rampaging monsters and a ticking time bomb are all part of Gin’s everyday life, but a drop in his blood sugar levels means trouble for everyone!

The franchise also has the Gintama: Ginpachi-Sensei Anime in production, release planned for 2025.
